Do you feel like your study productivity is tapering at home? Can't find the will to stay focused? This quarantine period may not be helping either. Not to worry, often, all it takes is optimising your study space to boost productivity and smash through work! Creating a clear, open space with favourable lighting and away from distractions will reduce your friction to sit down and learn.

The team at EDx Learning have created a quick checklist to ensure your study space is in top shape to maximise your productivity in the home setting. Here's what helped them top the state:
1. Keep your phone charged in another room.

Phones are often the biggest distraction to completing work. This small tweak makes procrastination all that much harder and will set you up to smash through all your deadlines!
2. Make sure your study table is away from your bed.

We associate beds with sleep, comfort and relaxation - all these things hinder productivity. Don't tempt yourself to take a study nap.
3. Invest in a quality lamp to illuminate and energise your workspace.

We promise you, lighting is all the difference in creating an energised workspace that stimulates hard work. Trust us on this and invest in a bright, adjustable lamp for those late-night study sessions.
4. Poster your goals over your study space.

The HSC is a year-long journey, and we can often get sidetracked with our goals and lose focus. Write down your goal ATAR and goal career in big, bright letters so it's the first thing you see in your study space. This small step has been critical to our mentors in their journey topping the state and achieving 99.95 ATAR’s. Running a race without knowing your finish line is a race destined to fail.
5. Use a wall calendar/whiteboard.

A wall calendar stuck to your study space will segment your goals into smaller tasks and prepare for deadlines. This alleviates the stress of organising work for all 10+ units of your HSC and allows you to monitor your goals. Create goal-oriented action items for each study block prior to your study each day/week.
